So, today I'd like to give my thoughts on Maxasorb Melatonin Sleep Cream. I got to try this product thanks to my BrandBacker membership. Though I did have to wait until I was off of a medicine that could interact before I could try it.
The last few months, I've had a lot of trouble falling asleep and staying that way. I've tried all kinds of things....herbal teas and capsules, warm milk, OTC and prescription medications, limiting (even going without) coffee. They always either had NO effect, or TOO MUCH (and going coffee free made it worse). If they worked, I'd be practically comatose (and would feel tired and "hungover" the next day). So, the sleep cream.....
First off, let me say that this stuff has a pleasant scent. Very faint (thankfully, as I hate overpowering scents). It absorbs into the skin quickly and doesn't leave a greasy feeling behind. I like that.
So, how does it work? Well, it took a little while to kick in. The first thing I noticed (about 8-10 minutes in) was a dryness in my mouth and throat. Not unbearable, but definitely not pleasant. I figured I wouldn't be able to sleep. I was wrong! It knocked me out within half an hour of applying the cream every time. I did still wake a few times, but significantly less than usual. The depth of sleep concerned me a bit. I slept WAY too deeply for me to feel safe (if I sleep through a phone right next to me, it's definitely too deep!). I also slept longer than I usually would. When I awakened, I'd still be tired. But within an hour, that feeling passed and I felt MUCH more rested than usual.
My overall thoughts? It delivers on it's promise to aid sleep. However, (at least for ME) it's a little TOO deep of a sleep. And the mouth/throat dryness I strongly disliked. I like the scent of it. And I like not feeling tired and disoriented all the next day.
Will I continue to use Maxasorb Melatonin Sleep Cream? Maybe occasionally, when I absolutely CANNOT fall asleep. I might try using only half a pump instead of a full one, to see how that works for me.
Well, that's it for now. Until next time.....
