Firstly, I want to talk about the True Glow Eye Cream (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B014DH4FTC). I LOVE this eye cream! As always, I allergy tested both products 24 hours before I started regularly using them. The very first thing I noticed was the scent. My regular readers will recall that I have trouble with most strongly scented products. This cream has a much stronger fragrance than I would typically use. So, imagine my surprise when I DIDN'T have any problems with it! Not only that, it smells amazing!
So, how does the eye cream work? Very well. I applied a tiny bit around the eye area with clean fingertips. It goes on smoothly and dries quickly (but does not leave the skin feeling stiff like some other things I've tried). Within minutes, I noticed that the dark circles I'm cursed with were lighter. Not gone (that would take a tiny miracle), but noticeably reduced. Puffiness was also reduced. Fine lines were diminished a bit (would the change be more apparent if the lines were deeper? Maybe). In all, a significant and immediate improvement!
Best of all, you can use makeup over it. Unlike another product I had reviewed, it didn't leave a dry, cracked appearance to the skin. Makeup went on smoothly (and because of the reduction in dark circles, I used less). There wasn't any sign that the cream was there.
I recommend this one highly!
Now, onto the Ultra Plumping Hydration Mask (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B014PJSYRM). The first thing I noticed about it? How awful it looks. It seems very slimy, and is a most unpleasant shade of yellow. Like, we're talking sinus infection yellow. Did I really want to put that on my face? The second thing was the odour. It was like they had taken the wonderful smell of the eye cream, and added some awful undertones. Still, I pressed on.
I applied it all over my face and neck, avoiding my lips and the eye area. The package says "A slight tingling sensation is normal". Holy wow, did this goop sting! Especially on the apples of the cheeks. But after a minute or so, I got used to it. I left it on for about 20 minutes the first time, and 25 each time after. As it dried, I noticed the scent changed. The unpleasant notes increased while the nice smell dissipated.
As instructed, I wiped it off with a warm wet cloth. You'll need to rinse that cloth several times as you're removing the mask.
The results? My skin felt "tighter". Yet it was soft to the touch, and didn't feel at all dry. Pores were less apparent. My smile lines were almost gone! I used the mask every day (which is way more than I'd normally use a mask), and my skin looked great! So, if you can get past the appearance and aroma of the mask, it's definitely worth it.
I might try using it once or twice a week now that I've had time to evaluate daily use.
In summation: Both products are highly effective at what they do. The eye cream smells amazing and can be used under makeup. The mask looks and smells terrible, but will leave your skin looking wonderful.
Until next time....
